University of Michigan Video Clinic:
Offense

University of Michigan Staff

Coach Lloyd Carr and the University of Michigan staff has provided the Coaches Learning Network Membership an incredible coaching tool by sharing video of their 2006 and 2007 high school coaching clinics.

We can't express our gratitude enough to coach Carr and his staff for their willingness to provide this incredible resource. Coach Carr has to be especially recognized.

In 13 seasons as Michigan's head coach, Carr won over 120 games, five Big 10 Championships, a National Championship, has a 75% winning percentage, led the Wolverines to a bowl game each season, finished in the top 10 five times, and is the only Michigan coach ever to win four straight bowl games.

However, those facts tell just part of the Lloyd Carr story. A good indicator of the quality of a man is what he is willing to do for others while expecting nothing in return. Despite this being his last season, one filled with adversity, challenges and great excitement, his gracious act to contribute to the Coaches Learning Network demonstrates several of the qualities that has made him a great coach and a great man.

Again, we thank coach Carr and his staff for their support of coaches at all levels and for their generous contribution to the Coaches Learning Network.

University of Michigan Video Clinic: Offense

The University of Michigan Video Offensive Clinic includes dozens of offensive line, quarterbacks, tight end and receiver videos presented by the Wolverine coaching staff. The video presentations (most with audio) feature on-field demonstrations with Wolverine players recorded during the University of Michigan 2006 and 2007 high school coaches clinics.

Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends
Coach Mike DeBord

Coach DeBord served two stints at Michigan (1993-1999, 2004-2007). In his first year as the offensive coordinator the Wolverines won the 1997 national championship. He served as the offensive coordinator again from 2006-2007.

DeBord coached three All-Americans at Michigan, offensive tackle Jon Runyan (1995), center Rod Payne (1996) and tight end Jerame Tuman (1997).

He has also coached several All-Big 10 players including Tuman (1997-1998), Payne (1995-1996), guard Damon Denson (1996), Runyan (1995), and offensive linemen Doug Skene (1992) and Rob Doherty (1992).

Before returning to Michigan he was the head football coach at Central Michigan University (2000-03). He began his coaching career at Franklin College (1982-1983), was an assistant at Fort Hayes (1984-1986), Eastern Illinois (1987-1988), Ball State (1989), Colorado State (1990-1991) and Northwestern (1992).

DeBord was a four-year letterman at Manchester College and an all-conference and all-district offensive lineman. He was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
